Finding the right advocate

The lawyer directory is not open yet. We will only list an advocate once their enrolment has actually been verified — no invented credentials, ratings or case results.

Before your first meeting

  • Write a short timeline of what happened, with dates.
  • Carry copies of notices, agreements, receipts and messages.
  • Ask about the likely process, timeline and fee structure in writing.
  • Ask what can and cannot realistically be achieved — be cautious of guarantees.

Free and low-cost legal aid

Legal Services Authorities operate at national, state, district and taluk level and provide free legal aid to eligible people, including women, children, senior citizens and people below prescribed income levels. Contact your District Legal Services Authority to check eligibility.

Coming next: verified advocate profiles with bar enrolment status, practice areas, languages, city and consultation options. Profiles will show a “Verified” marker only after enrolment has been checked against an official record.
